Warranty all the way mate...
However it may mention something about moisture in the headlamps in the owners manual.
But for me, I would gt this looked via the dealer.
Hi There,
Picked up my new Passat yesterday and it has not stopped raining since. I noticed today in the garage that there's a little bit of moisture/fog in the corner of the headlight near the grille. Anybody else noticed this at all? It was only a small amount and dried out eventually but just pondering if I should bother chasing this for warranty or if it's normal.
Thanks
Ryan

Going by experience, it probably wont get replaced. Volkswagen will say when the lights are on it will dissapate the moisture. IF its filling with water then they'll proceed to check where it is getting in, and either repair it or replace.
Looking at the design of the headlight I don't think it is supposed to be airtight anyway, it wasn't full of water or anything quite that dramatic but more or less condensation in the corner of the front lens of the headlight. Only thing that I am worried about is that it might damage the reflector part of the headlight over time or cause the lights to become dirty.
Will ask them about it regardless just in case it turns out to be an issue.
I had the same thing on my 2007 Passat and the VW service techs told me it is normal - the lights are not meant to be totally airtight. They said it is ok if there is only a fine mist but to bring it in if water collects in the bottom of the lens.
Do let us know how you get on.
Nicholas.
noticed this today when I went out to the car, think I'm definitely going to have to get it looked at
