New GPS Gadget- Speed Cameras Database

You might be interested, i recently bought very small gadget called G200 which is an alert unit for fixed and mobile speed cameras. 100% legal.

I decided apart from being illegal the radar detectors are too expensive and for a fraction of the price this will save me 90% of the fines.

Cheap at under $ 130 and may have already saved me that much on the geelong road last weekend. Most cameras are on overpasses, but there was also one on the back of the Millers road exit sign.

It also reads out the current speed and YES my speed was high across the board by about 8%. Includes a lifetime free online database update.

    find it at

highly recommended , only part i dont like it it always turns on with a "Fasten your seatbelts" reminder
had a passat tdi. now mb c class.

Just don't have an accident keeping your eye on the speedo...

Seriously though... there are a lot of GPS units that claim to do the same thing, and include a road map! I have a Tom Tom which gives me fixed traffic light warnings. Of course, there are 2 problems with it:
    1. It only works when I am using it to navigate
    2. It does not seem to recognise the fixed speed cameras very well. (I tried to update it, even rang Tom Tom, but it still ignores quite a few)

BTW does anyone know if the RNS510 GPS unit give speed limit and other traffic light warnings? I assume it should do!

The RNS510 doesn't give audible warnings or flash up a warning, but it can show cameras full time on the screen, once you have imported POIs. It's a PITA to get them into the system though.

    ROFLMAO...

Quote "G200 GPS Fixed Red Light & Speed Camera Detector 100% LEGAL TO USE"

then in the fine print "will not detect the presence of mobile cameras"

So even though this calls itself a Detector, it really doesnt detect!!

(But instead relies on a database of info about "maybe" situation and fixed cameras, that are always in the fixed camera box!")

Please correct me if I am wrong?
