Surely it looks good and sound better compared to the one in stock? Does the car gain some power when you replaced the exhaust? Kinda wondering if you replaced the headers as well.
Brought an APR stainless steel, 3" exhaust off eBay from a Queensland dealer clearing out old stock, did not need a new one, but for the price I paid, not even the wife could complain.
Just a couple of photos,
Do not believe it makes the Passat go any faster, but it sure looks good.

Have to remember it is a TDI, but on saying that, it has a great sound at idle compared to the stock system. Does seem to accelerate better, may just be a placebo effect, but since the new injectors and wiring loom have been replaced, it not only idles better, but there is none of the jerkiness a lot of VW's with the DSG gearboxes seem to have and mine had. Only replaced the exhaust from after the cat back, that is still the 2.5" size, then an adapter to flair it out to 3". The reason I have it done this way was not to throw up an error code. I know APR does a high flow, 3” Cat, love to buy that as well as a cold air intake to complete the look, but will take my time and save some more money. Mileage seems to have improved a fraction, save enough at the pump will go towards the extras that I tell my wife I need.
nice always good to see people modifying diesels
VW: it aint just a car, its a way of life
There are few things more satisfying in life than finding a solution to a problem and implementing it
