Hello all,

I have had an ongoing issue with my R36 where there is distinct shuddering on take-off. The most recent fix (mechantronics already replaced - the problem remains) is a new clutch pack. The symptom remains but now the VW techs are saying that I need to drive the car for 5,000kms to let the clutches bed in properly. It doesn't seem reasonable to me that in this day and age and with a car of this caliber, that one needs to drive the equivalent of Sydney to Broome to 'bed in' clutches. Considering the symptoms are unchanged, I also think the more likely explanation is that the replacement clutches did not address the root cause.

I'm not having much luck with VW who are sticking to their guns and are not willing to cover any further diagnostics. I am concerned that the issue may be a potential safety hazard as I believe the issue remains undiagnosed. I'm at the point, after 7 trips to the dealer and many emails, of considering lodging a complaint with the NSW Fair Trading office.

This has been going on since May and I've run out of patience. Any advice? Has anyone had similar experience?
