Im so excited this morning. In an hour and a half I pick up my new Reflex Silver Passat. Can't wait to pick it up and then enjoy the many miles ahead.

Well I've had my Passat for 6 days now and im absolutely wrapped! I couldn't be happier (other than having an R36??). Economy around town is around 7L/100km and there is power by the bucket load. I'm hanging for the weekend to give it a run on the highway.
Its comfortable, quiet and looks the goods. I love it!

Reflex Silver is my favorite VW colour...my Jetta was in that colour too.

It was a colour of opportunity rather than choice. I lobbed into the dealer in Tvl in late may. My lease was due to finish in Aug and was doing some research. Was not looking at VW until I sat in the Passat. Love at first sight I guess. The dealer looked around and found this one without an owner. I put a deposit down and the rest is history. My last car was silver and my wife's Toyota is silver. I think the dark tint sets it off.
1000kms down and a hell of a lot of happy days ahead I think. I love this car! Certainly a step up from my old humble commodore.

Welcome to another Townsville VW diesel driver. My experience with the local dealer is that the sales staff are less than impressive (which is why I bought interstate) but you are past that point. Their service department has been first class and they have got all my business to date(15K and 30K services)

I like the silver but only with black leather interior which was a no-no for me up here. The local sales manager only ever gets black interiors for his stock.

For a fun drive locally try up the Palmerston (or Gillies if the passengers aren't prone to motion sickness). Up to Paluma should also be OK but not done in the VW.

I was happy with the sales rep that sold me my car. I had a mate go in a few weeks later and was ignored. He was actually keen on buying a car before he went overseas for a few months. Maybe I just got a good time on a good day? Its good to hear the service dept is a winner because when you spend the sort of money that the dealers demand.
I am keen on heading up to the Tablelands for a bit of a "run in". Drove to Paluma on Saturday and loved the drive. I gave the car a bit of stick and it impressed the heck out of me. Economy was 5.7L/100kms over 260kms. Impressive by any measure. I'm not sure my wife's Toyota Yaris could return those figures???
vanDuB, what have you done in regards to oil changes? Have you left it in for the 15K, or have you done intermediate oil changes? Also, for all Tvl oiler drivers, where do you get your diesel from?
