MY13 Passat Wagon 118 TSI Drive away Prices and reccomended dealers in Melbourne

    Hi all,

love the site, long term lurker first time poster.

I am looking at getting a new MY13 118 TSI Passat Wagon for my wife to replace a Subaru Outback Wagon I managed to write off for her (through no fault of my own the other idiot fell asleep and hit me head on).

As we all do I want to get the best deal I can, and great service wouldnt go astray to go with it.

I would love to have recomendations on a good dealer in Melbourne and what is a realistic driveaway price on the new wagon.

I found the experience at Essendon VW quite good.

It may have been made easier that I had made it clear I was coming in with a plan of a novated lease and going through a fleet purchaser, so they didn't feel the need to be pushy. Or maybe they just aren't. Heck, maybe I'm just used to US car dealers and what would be considered pushy here in Aus I felt to be courteous and restrained.

At any rate, it was a pleasant and professional experience for us. YMMV.

Surely hope you walked away injury free from the head-on?

I paid $41700 for my stock candy white MY13 TSI wagon in late september. This was a car in stock. RRP is about $45500 here in QLD, so just under 10% off. Try to negotiate with the dealer about a week before the end of the month, since they've got quotas to fill.

I bought my passat wagon 118 tsi when vw were running the "free" on road cost and delivery back in late June 2012 from a dealer in Canberra for $42300. Options are sunroof and auto boot which I think comes standard now.
It's a great car done about 10 000kms so far mainly freeway stuff and it cruises so quietly, it's also nice to drive especially using the DSG box manually.

The cars pretty quick but after my jetta I would just like a bit more zip no reason just for the fun of it I'm concidering stage 1 Revo or APR when it comes out shortly, I will let you all know how the passat goes once its installed.

came away from the head on relatively unscathed. A ruptured disc in my neck was the worst of it.
Lucky i wasnt driving the VW UP I had on loan at the time. I wonder what shape I would have been in.
