Fitted Vision 18" rims to me V6 4Motion Passat Wagon

Some may have seen my thread asking about Velos 18"x8" rims to suit my V6 4Motion Passat Wagon:

Whilst these rims were ok, they didn't really inspire me to put them on my Passat.

I wanted something reasonably uncomplicated and a little understated, but also with a bit of aggressiveness. I decided to stick with VW rims as factory are *generally* better than many of the aftermarket cheap rims out there. Most of the good quality rims, like BBS and the like were a little too complicated with allen screw heads on the wheels or too many spokes or you can't get the correct offset for the wheel I liked etc.

Looking through the VW catalogues, I found a Jetta rim that was exactly what I was after. They are called "Vision" 18"x8" and are a 5 split spoke design which results in 10 individual spokes. The outer face is a machined finish which gives them a little bit of "bling" but not too much and they do not look too complicated. Also, they look easy to keep clean due to their "open" type design which also shows of the huge disc brakes that the V6 Passat has.

The offset is ET50 compared to the Passat 18"x8" rims offset of ET47, so 3mm hasn't made any difference.

All I can say is they look AWESOME!! and a big improve on the standard 17"x7.5" Monty(sic) Carlo rims.

Unfortunately, I have only just had them fitted and it is now too dark to take any decent photos, so I hope to take some tomorrow and show them here for you for anyone that is interested. You can see the rims here on the VW site but they look MUCH BETTER ON THE CAR:

nice work lance! good choice on the visions - i stuck them on my golf for the same reasons you gave (http://www.vwwatercooled.org.au/newf...ad.php?t=10202). gives it a look above the "norm". would imagine it would look unreal on your passat.

in the next 6 mths, i might look at getting a passat and throwing the visions on too. would be great to see a pic of yours.

Kumho KU31, which I am very happy with. Much cheaper than the Pirellis and they are better, IMO! Here are user report survey on the Tire Rack USA:

They came 7th out of a possible 43!
