I've seen a post on the UK R36owners forum that showed a guy who had done it with great success.
It would be a very cool upgrade to get!
Lemme know if you find out if its possible!

Am wondering if someone knows if it's possible to change any parameters using rosstech to enable the automatic tailgate on a passat wagon to be closed using the keyfob?

kufatec has insane shipping cost to australia though, so it's an expensive convenience.

kufatec kit or these guys on a german forum have a dongle that hooks up to obd port to enable this. the dongle is shared around and posted to various people and it cannot leave the EU or germany.
it should be accessible with ross tech but i cant get the right security access code to unlock it, I have emailed ross tech and hopefully will have some good news soon.
Hi,
There is this Alex guy in Germany... he has documented a retrofit with remote open/close of the tailgate: bronken.de » Modul: elektrische Heckklappe per Funkfernbedienung, Taster in der Fahrertür und Multifunktionslenkrad schließen. Firmware: 0.9R
He built a simple circuit (diagram is there) and wired it into the rear door wiring... he already stated he won't translate it into english, so just use google translate and look at the pictures carefully.
BTW, I think this is the same guy that has the firmware upgrade for the doors that enables door mirror open/close on remote control long hold on open/close... I've thought about asking if they will send the upgrade dongle to Australia and we do a single big meet up/upgrade.. but he already stated they only ship it around inside germany and get way too many emails from overseas so shelved that idea :/

^ I am useless with electronics but there's a guy at work who is a wiz with it, perhaps I can give the above a crack?
