Looking a buying a Passat Wagon

    Will keep it short,

Looking at a few that are for sale at the moment and would like some opinions on which sound like good buys to those that know, i know peougeots but the vws are about to out number them... (currently the other half has a mk5 2.0 golf tdi)

so in order of price (on road from dealers as there is none private) all 2.8L V6 wagons ( i am thinking the V6 is a better option than the 1.8T?

99 complianced but 98 built (different climate control knobs) $9500
196000kms lots of front end suspension work has been done interior a bit tired sounds a bit tappety and the rear muffler is rattly

    99 $11900
152000kms my gf drove it and says good, i will tomorrow, it has a front right rattle and a scratch on bonnet

99 $11990 will try to get a look tomorrow, no info on it other than 166000kms

    99 $12500
12200kms drove yesterday and drove really well but didn't trust the guy it had had water in it and ASR light didnt work and abs light was on and drivers side pannels didn't quite line up, entry to boot had been sprayed badly

cars are on tradingpost, carsales and drive

    comments and suggestions most appreciated.

also it is going to get loaded up lots (up around the 400kg) has anyone had experience with doing this? if it is too much for it it will get springs or air bags.
