I have finally got a response from the seller: a one-sentence email saying that the package was sent with DHL, not DeliverPlus. No explanation for the change and no tracking number provided. PayPal is still showing the DeliverPlus number and DeliverPlus have confirmed that they have definitely not picked up the package. I have asked the seller for a DHL tracking number or other proof that the package has been sent. I'll keep the case with PayPal open until I either get that or the package is actually delivered.

Well, unexpectedly, the bumper protector actually turned up today, delivered by DHL. So it looks like the problem with Unqshop was poor customer relations, rather than anything else.

The quality is reasonable. It seems to be well made. It came with double-sided tape on the bottom. It mostly fits the bumper well, however there is about a 1mm gap at each of the two rear corners between the bumper protector and bumper. I think it's because of the thickness of the tape. I can push the corner down so it's flat, but it pops back up again. I may have to investigate whether there's some other way to stick the corners down. Anyone got any ideas?

I tried to take some pictures last night, but couldn't get a clear shot in my garage. Will take some photos outside in daylight, probably on the weekend, and post them.

Problem is I don't think there is a genuine VW steel protector for the B7. Local dealer doesn't have it in their system, and I haven't found it in any international VW accessory brochures.

The taildoor and the top part of the rear bumper are identical on the B6 and B7.

I wanted to put the chrome strip across the bottom of the taildoor but its not shown for a B7.

I made a template and compared it to a B6 door and they are exactly the same therefore the bumper plate should fit.

Here's a picture of the bumper protector on my Alltrack. I think it looks pretty good. It is less obtrusive than I was expecting for a piece of "mirror finish" stainless steel. That's because from most viewing angles it is reflecting the tailgate so it kind of blends in with the bumper colour. You can see that the rear corner is slightly raised. I'm still looking for a way to get it to stick down.
