So, how's the 125TDI ownership experience going so far for you?

My car has had a few little annoying issues. Firstly was the massive amount of moisture in the passenger side headlight (which I've made a thread about before) and the gearbox seems to be getting rougher and has way too much slack when engaging reverse. I had intended to get those things looked at after Christmas/New Years is over and done with.

Yesterday I popped the bonnet so I can take the caps off the back of the headlights and air them out (full of water) only to be greeted by a strong scent of diesel. There's a fuel leak in the engine bay which seems to be coming from the black canister with hoses going into/out of it on the front left of the engine bay (behind the headlight). Not sure what that is, maybe a fuel filter? Diesel is leaking down the side of that and onto the metal below the headlight. Took it to VW and they didn't seem to be fussed, told me to come back another day. Oh well, too bad if I catch on fire in the meantime.

Not to mention they also forgot to include the lock nut key for the car amongst the tool kit which I only found out about after getting a punctured tyre.

Any other 125TDI owners had similar problems at all? These little things are adding up to be one giant pain in the backside... I'm sick of seeing the dealership and they're sick of seeing me obviously.

No problems with mine Dopey, although it was leaking around the filter too. Just nipped up the nuts around the top and all good. It has torque specs, but I just nipped the suckers up! No leaks now. Haven't had any problems with headlights or with the trans either. Very very happy with it. Still can't get over the performance, the economy, the DSG, and the quietness inside. It's been all good so far! My GF loves driving with me in it at night, gets lots of looks she reckons I reckon it's just her that gets the looks, (or maybe me ), but she reckons it's the car

sorry to hear that mate. maybe you could head to another dealer to get it all fixed under warranty. i've sat in a 125TDI lately and must say it feels awesome. dont let the dealer spoil the fun for you.

    cheers
