    It's arrived - B7 TDI Wagon

    Hi All,

My new Passat 125 TDI Wagon company car arrived today.

Bit of a surprise really, it was ordered in early January and the last estimate our company fleet controller gave me was 17 July delivery, then happily I received an email today saying it was ready to pick up.

Anyway it's a 125 TDI Wagon in Candy White with sports package, adaptive chassis control and tow bar.

Only done a 100 or so kms, but I'm liking the ride quality, handling and performance (has it all over the auto 2.5 litre Subaru Forester I handed back). The DSG is sensational (let's hope it stays that way) and I'm liking the black Vicenza wheels on the white car.

    Cheers
    John

Sorry for the delay posting pics, but I picked it up Thursday and with the current Sydney weather it wasn't in a fit state to photograph.

Here are some pics from Saturday after a wash and Paint seal with Nanolex

Very nice looking - though I don't think we'll ever go with a white car again. Can't afford to wash it every second day when coming back from the stables.

    Those wheels look absolute stunning!

I'm so tired of our current junker, but with the Alltrack not even available yet - and according to a VWWC rumour delayed to December - it will be a while til we have our own. So I'll just have to drool over forum member pics.

Quick question: your 2nd pic shows no trailer hitch, the 3rd one does. Is that the factory-installed retractable one?

    Cheers!

Yes it's my first light coloured car for sometime, but having seen the white with those wheels I decided it was the way to go.

I think it's just the angle of the photo making it look like it's not there. It's the dealer fitted standard towbar, happy to say they've didn't cut too much out of the rear bumper like some of the installs I've seen posted by other forum members

The rear windows are the factory tints that come with the sports package, apparently it's tint only and does not provide UV protection. The front windows were dealer arranged pre-delivery. Not sure who the dealer was as it's a lease vehicle arranged through work. (Sorry that was a really un-helpful reply)

I did the Nanolex myself. I visited Car Care Products at Fivedock (in Sydney) on Friday and got some advice and the necessary products. I guess time will tell whether I did a good job or not.

I hope you Nanolexed (is that a valid verb?) the wheels!

We have recently moved house, so furnishings, house repairs, garden, Kids, wife, pool come first, effectively I haven't been able to spend money on the car... I thought I would just wash it for four months, wear the wax off a bit, then buy clay and nanolex the paint/wheels/glass and give it a belated birthday...

I have worked out a few things...

    1) If I wanted to drive it like its a Camry, I would have bought a Camry... so I don't drive it like its a Camry...
    2) It doesn't have Japanese brake pads... it has German brake pads... it would take me a month of braking hard in my old WRX/XT turbos to get the wheels half as dark as they get in a week...
    3) German brake dust isn't grey like everyone else's brake dust... when it is dry it has a bit of 'ranger in it so the silver bits go rusty brown, and the black bits go rusty brown... but when its wet it looks black so it is easy to miss bits on the black paint until the car dries and goes red again... any bits you missed look yuck....

So I am washing the wheels once a fortnight, and I mean on my knees, scrubbing with a soft sponge, wishing I had at least nanolexed the wheels Lucky I love how they look... the skinny gaps between the V outlines are buggers, I can barely fit the pinky into the nooks

So nanolex (or whatever) the buggers!

Yes I noticed the wheels were already pretty dusty on the weekend (after about 300kms!).

My wife is taking delivery of a new Honda Jazz this week and I've promised to give it the Nanolex treatment this weekend. If there is any sealant left in the bottle at the end I'll do my wheels, if not I'll be getting some more next week and doing them the following weekend.

I might also pick up a nice tapered wheel brush as they are, indeed, a bugger to clean!
