iPhone not recognized

Hi all, picked up my v6 highline wagon today, and love it!
Question without warning:
The deler provided MDI cable, but when I attach an iPhone cable then an iPhone and select the MDI through the screen, it says
Media device - without function
Any ideas?

You probably have the factory MDI cable (female USB) & plugged in your iPhone cabe - this will not work - you'll have to buy a iPhone/MDI cable for your closestr parts department or you could just stream through bluetooth.

Thanks, I bought one of those cables you recommended.
Have got the Bluetooth working, but want to be able to use the head unit to search by artist etc.
One other thing, the memory seats, I have it all set up, but I find the left mirror doesn't quite return to the correct spot, almost in decernable but it looks to me to be angled a smidgins lower than I set it. Anyone seen this?
