Its cool being able to track the car. Mine came into Melbourne yesterday on the Aniara. I watched the ship dock on the webcams. My dealer rang today to tell me it should be about three weeks away from arriving in Hobart!!
She is now 2 days out of Durban, if anything slightly ahead of schedule and steaming at a nice 17-18 knots towards Fremantle.
Knocking on every wooden surface I can find...
So close! (globally speaking )

Whoa, wasn't aware that was around. marinetraffic.com doesn't have them. Quick google and I'm bouncing up and down. Love the one where you can control the webcam for a certain time yourself! I assume Ro-Ro vessels all got to Webb dock?
Now I won't have to take a sickie to go shipspotting!
Also you won't see much movement from outside of Durban as 1. they turn off the transmitter to hide from pirates and 2. they will get too far out to be received by any of the receivers.
Yeah, that was the same along the west coast of Africa. Ship "disappeared" around Spanish West Sahara/Senegal and then didn't show up again until around southern Namibia. marinetraffic.com also states that their AIS receivers really only have a range of *at best* 200nm, with 40nm being more common.
As of posting this, the Sunshine Ace has left Fremantle and is on the final stretch to Melbourne, arriving Sunday. Can barely stand it, so close!
After leaving the dealer alone for over a month, time to give them hell again and not let them slack off in actually getting the car to us!
Soon, very soon! Must not hyperventilate!
PS: also finally saw my first Alltrack around Melbourne yesterday. Up near Sunbury/Gisborne no less!
Very exciting! My car is still somewhere in the middle of the Indian Ocean.
I have seen two Alltracks around Melbourne in the past week: one in Box Hill and the other on the Mornington Peninsula.
Awesome!. I remember all to well how painful it was to see that boat somewhere in the middle between Africa and perth.
I got a nice wake up mms from my dealer of my car on the carrier one morning then a surprise car is ready message two days later
My friendly stealer said 3 weeks from docking to our taking possession. They better not take that long! First they said 2 weeks. This had better just be CYA on their side.
My car arrived on the boat 4th and I had it by the 13th
