Question How do you protect against stone chips?

    Hello All,

I hate bonnet protectors and I can't find one for my passat anyway... Is there any other options that some of you have used for this purpose. I'm going to QLD soon and don't want to come back with a hacked bonnet...

There's a company down Melbourne way that does a protective coating over areas that you designate: all front, bonnet, guards, etc. but I can't remember who it was. Do a search.

    Cheers and good luck,

There are firms that apply a clear film over the leading edge of the bonnet and across the front of the car on painted surfaces, like the bumper bar and the front of the mirrors etc.

The film is laser and precision cut so that it fits neatly and can be difficult to see, so should upset the look of the car's paintwork. The film is also easily removeable.

Here are a few I Googled:

Thanks Gents for all your info - I'll give some of those companies a try tomorrow.

Slightly off topic, but I pick up my R36 this week and need to give my Mazda MPS6 a good clean up prior to selling. Can anyone recommend a good detailer in Sydney's inner west?

Wyatt, I'm into car detailing. Its sort of my weekend sport (sick, I know!).

I'll do you a deal - take me for a drive in your R36 and I'll give the MPS a detail and complete paintjob restoration.

I live in Eastern Suburbs, so PM me if interested.

I'd have thought the three putting thing would be your weekend sport!

I shot 79 on Wednesday, with SEVEN three putts.

Furious is not an adequate descriptor...

To be fair to myself, the greens had just been cut and rolled, so any missed putt from up hill was going to be off the green... that doesn't explain it all, though!
