How do I remove the oem roof racks off my Passat 3c

I tried removing the cross bars which were installed by the dealer, but I couldn't it looks like they used double sided tape. Anyone know if this is the case. Removing the fixing bolt does nothing.

Can we see a photo of them, my wagon doesn't have "cross" bars, just the ones running the length of the roof.

I think that you will find that the black rubber pads that they use are sticky on one side only. BUT when the other face is held to the car rail under pressure under time, it tends to stick also! Just give the cross-rail a tap with your palm and it will break free. The pads cover the whole surface area where the rail and bar meet.
