Check your engine number my friend and that will corelate to the KW output. Also on the white sticker in your boot and in your service manual front page it is clearly stamped there.
Hi Guys
I'm new here and I am expecting delivery of my new Passat 125kw TDI tomorrow. It occured to me that with 2 variants of the TDI, the 103 and 125kw engines, how can I, the absolute layman when it comes to cars, be sure I have been given what I ordered and paid for? I hear the cries of "paranoia alert" and they are justified. Are there distinguishing features that I can use to check I have the 125kw?
Cheers

Hi Jimmymac
Thanks for the tips. VWA suggested I ask the dealer what sort of engine I was getting which didn't seem enough to me. According to my lease schedule the engine number is BMR061311. I'm not sure how that corelates to either but I guess I'll find out today.
Thanks again for replying
BMR is the engine code. Ring any VW dealer and the parts department could tell you what the power output is.

Thanks guys for all your help. Picked up the car yesterday and it is fantastic. 125kw clearly written in service manual though I must have looked weird checking out every nook and cranny in the boot?

Mine has the red "I" but the dude at Barloworld said while that is a good indication it is not a guarantee. He said sometimes it depends on who is putting the badges on the cars on the day. Some go without altogether, apparently. Anyway I couldn't be happier with this car. It's the small things I like such as the rain sensing windscreen wipers, the automatically dimming rear view mirror, oh yeah almost forgot, the great fuel economy!
Cheers
Modern car factories don't "depend on who is putting the badges on that day", sounds like more of the VW dealer crap that seems to be so common from our collective experiences.
Each car has a Bill of Materials, each item is delivered to the appropriate assembly point just in time for assembly. The logistics are highly organised and very automated, I think the odds of an incorrect part being fitted are extremely low.

I know it's not VW, but reminds me of a story with my old Freelander.
I had a Dark metallic grey one, and I had silver coloured badges (for the "Land Rover" across the bonnet, engine type (V6) etc).. I thought that is how they all come.
Guy I meet on a LR forum (also lives in SE Qld) also had a dark metallic grey one. We meet up, and first thing I notice is his badges are all black!
So sometimes it does happen
