Oh okay, it didn't mention it in the description so I just assumed. I would be checking that he/she actually does have that option first, I believe it might have been added only for MY10.5, and it seems strange to skip it in the description. They may have confused it for regular cruise.

Your options list is mostly accurate. This is the info I have gained when I was researching to buy mine, hopefully accurate.

Have:
RNS510 Satellite Navigation ($2500)

Want:
Adaptive Radar Cruise Control with Front Assist ($2000, MY10.5)

Don't Want:
Adaptive Chassis Control ($1650, MY10.5)

Fully optioned added another $13,650 to the base price. MY10.5 also got a new climatronic system, MY10 got the media device interface, a revised DSG and white MFI, MY08/9 had none of that and old red displays. Dynaudio is relatively easy to retrofit if you want to, you can't do it new but you can source the hardware and have it installed yourself, probably for around 2-3k or less if you're thrifty. Even the chrome Dynaudio speaker grilles are available and you can code your RNS510 to display the Dynaudio splash screen with VCDS. Radar cruise and lane assist are theoretically possible but the cost and difficulty would be very high. I'll retrofit Dynaudio into mine but I don't think it's worth doing the others. Same is likely true for ACC. If you're wondering why I wouldn't want ACC, the reason is that I'm a spirited driver and I have the Adelaide Hills at my disposal. ACC even on Sport mode is inferior to the R36 specific suspension setup. I would rather have better performance than a comfort mode. Totally personal opinion there of course.

You may also read that the B6 Passat had Park Assist, but that option was never available for the R36 only.

Nah that's not right. MY10.5 is the only model to get climatronic, MY10 had the old style. I also thought MY10 got the MDI, but I could be wrong there.

As for Dynaudio, I knew there were differences, what exactly has changed? The loom from the car to the amp or the amp to the speakers? I was planning on putting the amp in my MY10.5 at some point to play nice with the RNS510, but doing an off the shelf Dynaudio kit for the remainder.

My Climatronic is identical to the below. The reason I say I was sure is because I was looking at an MY10 at my local VW dealer and it had the old three dial style one. I asked them to confirm it was MY10 and when the newer Climatronic came in and they advised me that was MY10.5 only that got Climatronic. If yours is not an MY10.5 but has the below, then that's pretty confusing as all the MY10's I have seen and the one I was advised on by VW did not have it.



MDI, fair enough, no arguments there. I believe I just got my info from a forum post or review somewhere else on that one.
Amp connector, damn, that's a shame. So I guess I'd need to find not only the Dynaudio amp but the Dynaudio amp from the MY10.5. That makes it trickier!

R36 stopped production in 2010, I believe there was stock sold in 2011 in Australia. I heard that price went up after the stop production announcement released.

Well, it must have been partway through the MY10 then. I can 100% say I have seen a lot of MY10's with the older pre-climatronic controls. Just looking through Carsales now the MY10's appear to be fairly evenly split with some Climatronic and others not.

Had no idea about the privacy glass, first I've heard of that one, cool to know. And nah I haven't looked for the amp yet.
