And here's our new toy! (Alltrack)

It's been a long time coming, but today I picked up our new car. All's well as ends better!

Especially happy to report that after some apprehensions about other posters reported workmanship on the towbar, that VW Essendon did an immaculate job, which looks very clean and professional!

looks good and towbar too. alltrack must have a different fitting kit as normal passat doesnt come with the rubber edge strip that you also get on the golf... makes the job a lot better... shame they dont put it in every towbar kit as standard..

Re: And here's out new toy! (Alltrack)

I thought that rubber surround was normal. We got the same tow bar set up when we bought our used passat 2 years ago.

Love the passat all track btw, really makes the b7 design look good.

You can buy edging like that at Clark Rubber and other places Looks like you just got an installer that actually cared.

Congrats on your Alltrack, looks great

Been wanting to have a tow bar installed on our passat, but have been scared to commit. Your install has renewed my faith that it can be done correctly by an installer with some skill and care factor. Would contemplate a trip to Melbourne just to get an install that good.

Yep, but it's small stuff like that. I'm certainly likely to continue to take my business to VW Essendon. After the delays, the final experience was overall very good as well. So, if something like the towbar install is representative of their work quality, I'll breathe a sigh of relief at finding a good service centre that's a fairly close drive from where we live.

Tell me about , but you will find it all worth it once you're driving with a grin on your face so hard, you'll need surgery to remove it!

But be oh so careful about speed: you breathe on the accelerator and you're doing 140! With 2500rpm. This thing screams for an Autobahn!
