    Help with RNS 510 install

    Hi

I have a 2010 R36 and have purchased a RNS510 which I have installed via the retrofit instructions by Scott McKim My question is - I cant find an access panel for the onboard positioning sensor which is described as being accessed via a panel in the right side boot space near the tail light unit. I just can't find this panel access? could be a model variation ? It requires the positioning sensor is unplugged prior to progamming unit with security code.
    Any advice on install welcomed

I searched forum prior to asking.. incase I have missed the answer

    Hi MJSAB,
Having not seen Scott McKim's instructions, can you tell me what this onboard poisitioning sensor is?
I know in North American cars you have to disconnect the compass module before installing RNS510. If you've put in a GPS antenna, that is all you need. Hope that helps

    ^^ What he said.

Mount the aerial under the dash (bare in mind, it needs to be sticky-side-down, and from memory, cord to the rear), and plug the RNS 510 in. Then you've got to put the new radio pin code in (from VW dealer), and load the Nav disc. You'll probably want to get the VW dealer to re-code the CAN-bus gateway to suit the new RNS 510.
