    Getting Good VW Service

Given the number of recent threads I thought it may be beneficial to put our collective experiences in a single thread about where people have recieved great service for their VW so that others can have a pointer for their service.

Couple of points, to keep this thread as an information source it should follow the following format so we have some consistancy. Of course this is not an advertising thread or one for self promotion.

So, things that should be covered are:

    State/City/Suburb:
    Business Name:
    Rating out of 10:
    Comments about recent experience:
    Gone...........R36 Icelandic Gray Wagon

Comments about recent experience: Appalling company to deal with, no ethics, no morals, misled about delivery dates, misled about delays, misled about finance, changed contract for $1000 in between finalising and them printing it (60 seconds) and were shocked when I picked it up in the fine print, tried to screw me out of $5000 extra on trade, smoked in my traded in car that I had to take back after a week, very unhelpful, rude staff especially the sales manager. The list goes on and on. See my first posts on the site for more information about the BS they put me through.

As for the service staff, not going to rank them all that high as I know a lot of people who have had problems where they refuse to do warranty work and threaten loss of warranty over small items (like the TAI and they claim no gearbox warranty).

Spare parts I've spoken to a few times and they did give some good prices but I also know that they have ordered in wrong parts for people recently and refused to take them back so watch out.

Purchased an R36. I cannot fault the attention, response to queries, honesty, and support in the purchase of this car. Very, very, very happy with the deal and honest appraisal of options etc. Highly recommended for purchase (can't comment on after-sales)

Comments about recent experience: Exceptional service and I wish I had gone there initially to buy, bent over backwards to accommodate me with a great deal at the last minute both the salesman and the salesmanager were excellent to deal with, they could have take advantage of my position but didn't. Can't speak highly enough of the staff there (both the salesman and salesmanager have moved on but all the staff seemed to have the same attitudes which obviously comes from higher up).

As for Service staff I can't complain there either, they have attended to everything promptly and the service manager Gary Andrew's is always willing to help. More than willing to drive 15-20km to have to my car serviced there than take it to Austral at Newstead which is 1km away.

Spare parts are excellent as well, again can't fault my dealings with Martin Vinson the spare parts manager and the other staff there.
