I read somewhere on the Net that VWA buy all their cars from VWAG in Aussie Dollars, so that the exchange rate risk sits at head office, not at a local level.
Could be rubbish, but it was the reason VW's didnt increase substantially when our dollar went tits up last year.
If I remember a number of manufacturers (esp Japan) buy their car in overseas currencies and the Aud weakened their prices went up by sometimes 10%+
