    Front protection for radiator

Hi there. *I have recently purchased an ex-demo 2011 Passat and I must say it is a most impressive vehicle. *The only query I have is regarding protection measures that can be taken for the lower grille / radiator base as it is quite exposed. *I live out of town and have quite a lot of large insect (and small rock?)strike marks on the lower radiator after only a 1000 km. *We have a small amount of dirt road driving and mostly open country driving, so it will be an ongoing problem and i am hoping there might be someone out there that has fitted some successful protection for the same reasons, either home made or commercially made. *Any pointers?

    Thanks in advance.

    Matt

Same concern here in Tamworth. Love to hear a hot tip!

Doesn't look like anyone else has the same issues? I might be worrying too much, but I don't want to do a radiator before its done 10K !

You could do what everyone else does up there, and stick shade cloth over the front of the car. But that would just introduce overheating issues of a different nature.

Wouldn't worry too much, your radiator is protected by the air con condensor.
