    Flying parts!

    Hi all,

The headlight washers switched themselves on the other night while I was on the freeway..

The result? One of the washer covers on the front bar has blown right off and there's just a sad hole where it used to be.. Good thing I was at the speed limit and on cruise control...Who knows what else might have flown off!

Sounds like time to visit for some warranty work

    Seems really odd...
Take to VW and see what they can do.

When you say the headlight washers, did the windscreen washers come on at the same time also?

As with mine, the headlight washers and windscreen washer come on at the smae time and only if the headlighhts are "ON". And only if you activate the washing system via the push/pull stalk.

Hmm - will VW say not to use your windscreen washer if you have bi-xenons at freeway speeds?? :p

My headlight washers only come on every 5th time. Not hard to keep track of if you can count to five. hahaha Can't say I've ever used my washers at hwy speed though. No need to really.

Yeah- must have been #5...Was driving into the evening sun and used the windscreen washers and got the headlight washers as the added bonus

Does your R36 have some weird **** going on where speed is inversely proportional to how dirty your windscreen is?

Nope. Just no need to wash the windscreen on the highway. Sure it gets some bugs but they're much easier to clean off when stopped for a break which should be every two hours. Can't get too dirty in two hours really. Plus I can clean it properly rather than end up with streaks of bug entrails! lol

On the other hand, dust and direct sunlight are not so pleasant
