Also, nyc, not sure if I misunderstood you: the iPhone can stream audio via the USB port, a number of devices make use of that, from the various docks with speakers to this crappy gadget we have for our ancient Mitsubishi which allows you to plug in your iPhone and it will take the streamed audio and it sends it to the car radio receiver.

VW Golf integrated Bluetooth has a problem with iPhone. Dealers reccommend a satellite rather than integrated (RCD510) Bluetooth system. My son said "irthgwip" or words to that affect when I gave him my 2.5 year old Golf.
However He gave me a new Huawei phone (Major Chinese company), with claimed full Bluetooth connectivity as a present. Yes it works, BUT cannot download the phonebook. Bummer. Looks like have to buy a Samsung?

Re the stop start system, it works a treat. Only about 900km so far.
But more important, (Perhaps because I have 130TDi) the DSG performs almost the same as a torque converter. Very smooth take off,
no jerk! Only difference is a little slow to respond after quietly leaving a traffic light, then quickly planting the foot down!!
