Fitting fog & LED lights, simple question?

I remember reading that there were wiring and plugs for fog lights already fitted to B6 Passat, whether they had fogs fitted from the factory or not, can not find the thread, hence the question, is there wiring and plugs for fog lights already fitted to B6 Passat and if so where? I removed both side grilles and looked but could see no other plugs. I have brought another light switch that has a position for fogs on it, just waiting for it to arrive, but was hoping to have it all ready to go. Help!

I've been wanting to fit fogs to mine for ages, but just havn't had the time. From my research you will need something like this:
VW GOLF JETTA MK5 MK6 PASSAT B6 CC FOG LAMP LIGHT WIRING HARNESS KIT - 9006 | eBay
This suggest that the wiring and plugs are not already fitted, but I'm not actually 100% sure...

I have a golf tdi... Just reading here got me thinking about what you said with the wiring already there... The switch in my car has the spot for fog lights...(but no fog lights) would this mean my wiring would already be there?

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread just wondering

Does it have two spots for fog lights or just one? As in front and rear?

I have the wiring diagram from my Haynes manual, shows front fogs and back fog, different coloured wires, back is already there. I have never used it, must sit down with the owners book one day to see how to turn it on. I am looking at buying that wiring loom that you have mention above, but not sure if I will need to have the computer checked and coded to allow for them to work.

Oh I never realized it was for the rear. Haven't used it. Just had a look then the rear inner light in the right side comes on like breaks but only that side...

Generally car manuals show the wiring diagram for the highest model with all the electronics to cover all bases, but it doesn't mean it is actually fitted to the car. And I am pretty sure it will need to be coded to get it to work, I remember seeing the box you have to tick in VCDS. You can also code it to perfom the "corner function" where the fog lights will activate on the side that your indicating to light up the kerb

Yep that is the rear fog light. European law states that it must be on the drivers side of the car (unless it is fitted with two fog lights), and it has to be least 10cm away from the brake light. Personally I only use it to annoy tailgating drivers. Works a treat

Thanks for the info and yeh seems a good idea... I usually just tap the brakes a lot and annoy them. Or slow under the limit

Sorry for not getting back to this thread before, I have now fitted the fogs and LEDS, nearly all works, but had to buy the wiring loom as mention before for the fogs. The second hardest part was getting a wire through the fire wall, with the battery and surrounding covers removed, used a small piece of hard wire with the electrical wire taped to it, pushed it through a rubber grommet and then inside the car to find it. I recall the old days, when there was nothing but air behind dashes, but not the Passat. It came through where the pollen filter is, managed to find it and pull it down. Now the hardest part, with a very long hard wire, and yes I mean long, managed to get it behind the centre consul and then taking the electrical wire off, open the panel that hides the fuses on the drivers side of the dash, feed the hard wire down until I could see it hit the floor, then pulled the electrical wire back up, what fun. Like I said, nearly all works, the LEDS are meant to flash off when the indictors are on, could not find a common wire and so attached one to both front indictors. Worked well, then a couple of days later, both front indictors came on, instead of just one, Power was feeding back, so I disconnected one side for now, will need to find some kind of relay or something to make sure the power is coming from just one side at a time and not feed back on the system. As for the back fog light, I had already brought a new light switch and installed it, believed I needed to have the computer coded to use the front and back fogs, but no. In either the park or full lights position, just pull the light switch out and on came the front fogs, but still could not understand how the back ones worked. Had to have some work on the Passat done at the VolksFactory, asked him to code it in for the back one, he then advised me, on the full light position, the switch just needs to be pulled out 2 positions, now front and back fogs all work. Will try to add photo’s soon.
