    Fast idle - 2009 Passat TDI

    My wifes 2009 tdi passat station wagon seems to be idling a bit quick.i got in iti this arvo and it was sitting at a 1000 rpm.Any suggestions

    When does it do it when its cold, hot or all the time.

    If your 100% sure there is an issue take it to your service centre to get checked out.

    Its not that your not the regular driver and just notice something new?

    I know going from a TDI to FSI there is difference between the 2.

    Mine does that on occasion too, usually shifting change points up anything from 500 to 2000 rpm while it's running at the fast idle speed. I've never had an explanation, but I think it's the DPF regenerating cycle.
