I sold mine today with just under 32k km. What a bittersweet day. I'll miss it, but now have time to think about what's next.

Smaller. Perhaps a Golf R or S3.

Thanks mate! He's an idiot then, the market in no way, shape or form supports that estimation, any way you spin it. I would say based on the research I did for mine, that's even less than dealer trade in for yours, which is what I would use if I intended to lowball someone. I offered way more than that for my initial offer and I still felt like it was pushing lowball (Although I fully intended to negotiate up) and might offend the seller.

Anyway, I look forward to seeing what you come up with for the next car. I initially considered the Mk. 7 Golf R with options when I was looking at spending a bit more, and I did look at the S3 although it was out of my budget. I found the two to be a bit of a hard choice, but my personal opinion was that I'd rather the Golf, although without having driven the S3. Sticking with white?

Haha that sucks, I was very boring on the way back from Melbourne to Adelaide specifically for this reason. I've racked up a few points on the old car, nothing on the R36 so far, knock on wood!

Nowhere near what you will get for a private sale if it's been well looked after. I wouldn't trade an R36 as they're not hard to sell. I must have had 30+ enquiries on mine including 3 on the first day it was advertised.

Check Redbook for this figure as the dealers will use a similar source. Expect to be ripped off. You will do well privately with an MY10.5 providing the km's are not high, especially with options as it's what everyone wants.
