"engine fault workshop" and now "Steering column lock defective"

    Hi all
After about 4 months of trouble free driving my car developed a problem where it comes with "engine fault workshop" when started first time in the morning and sometimes when i leave work(9-10 hrs not being used), glow plug light keeps flashing and if car is started it shuts down after few seconds. when started for the second time it's all good and car runs fine.
I owe this car for just under two years(bought 2nd hand) and i can tell you that it's been nothing but a trouble from DSG problem to cracked cylinder head to faulty boost pipes and cracked oil cooler, faulty thermostat and noisy pre-delivery pump and now this.Car just clocked 130000 km and timing belt was replaced at 120000 km, all i can say is that I've lost confidence in a car and every time i drive it the first thing that come to my mind is "whats next" if i had to go on a longer trip i use my 15 year old Mitsubishi Delica as it has never let me down.
Hope that someone can shed some light on this issue.
    ****UPDATE*****
Tonight this message came on "Steering column lock defective" with "engine fault workshop" and continuous beeping sound , few times in and with key and all good. One thing I've noticed lately was when key is inserted a clanking sound is heard from steering column which was louder then usually, anyway the car is booked in for Friday and we'll see what happens.....

This is a video of MFD displaying the problem taken this morning

Left the car this morning with Denlo and they've found that there is a fault with "steering column" and it needs to be replaced , $750 fitted.Asked them to approach VWA and ask for a good will which they apparently did and it was rejected. i'll call VWA on monday and asked them to cover it considering what other things went faulty on this car.

It turned out to be steering immobilizer module- 50% covered under good will, cost just over $200.
A month since I got the car back and yesterday it stalled in peak hour traffic, tow truck came to pick it up, took it to a dealer and got a call from them late afternoon and now it's injectors that went. Rough quote was $4500 and he said that they'll submit "good will" to VWA.
I should have an answer tomorrow.

There ought to be a recall for the injectors..

Got my car back today and all was covered under warranty and two days turnaround. Asked them if there is a recall and he said NO, it's all done on case by case basis. Also last official recall by VWA was in 2007.
I should have a reliable car now as most of the know issues are fixed.
