This is the fuel pump priming.
Hi All, a stupid question here. I have a B7 Passat Wagon & when I open my drivers door I can hear a electric motor noise like something is adjusting itself but can't work out where it is coming from. It only happens when I open the drivers door. I don't have the coming/leaving lights enabled but I generally do have the mirrors folded in. I am the only driver so it is not the memory seat adjusting itself.
Any ideas?

Yep, I had the same question, whenever I open the driver door an electric motor type noise can be heard for 2-3 seconds. I asked the dealer service dept about it & was advised the same, fuel pump priming. Wonder of it is the same for the 125TDi & 118TSi's..?

Thank you all. I suppose that makes a lot of sense in hind sight.
