Just turn it on and play some music. The difference is night and day- Dynaudio is very, very good

Or if you really want high quality sound, install a decent aftermarket system which will sound even better than the factory fitted Dynaudio.

A decently installed, decent sound system may sound better than Dynaudio if you want to go down that path... but that aint always practical to do so.

I dont think you can achieve a factory (2k) Dynaudio matching sound by putting in 1k of aftermarket gear....

After hating it for the first two months, I missed my Dynaudio that much, that the first thing I did was Bose-ectomy my current car with instructions to try and make it "sound like a Passat Dynaudio..."

Agreed. Creating a sound experience better than the Dynaudio will cost significantly more, but for audio buffs it will be worth it and the comparison bewtween the two night and day.

Yep, cost me over $3k to go down this path. Very happy though.

To be honest, even the non-Dynaudio Passat gear (atleast in the R36) sounds amazing.

I find though for some reason that media played over the SDCard and Bluetooth sound leaps and bounds better than the AUX.

My last car had two amps, a woofer and proper splits and the Passat audio sounds better.

(Maybe I just chose crap gear, hah)

Parents have the new Holden Caprice with the woofer as well and I still think the Passat sounds better.

This Dynaudio stuff must be amazing if it's that much better than the normal gear.

Meh, because everything was going to be a massive dissapointment after the passat.... i bought an incomparable car, an old Mx5 NC1 roadster as a fun daily driver... but the worst platform for in car audio ever...

Ripped out the Bose and put in marine grade Polk6 1/2 splits, 6x9s low passed in the cubbies behind the seats and a marine grade Polk 4ch amplifier.... sounds pretty close parked up, but at a hundred with the roof off and windows down... Meh

    Can't dynamat canvas!

Anyhow...first world problems! and this isn't a miata forum.... the main thing is about a year ago I was whinging about my dynaudio (as the oldies here would know) in the end I miss it terribly... (you may not like it if you are into stuff with a hard core base thump) but most other stuff is great...

It is harsh out of the box, but after you drive it a bit the tweets mellow a little and the big drivers loosen up and step up... for a factory solution I liked it. Also because it was harsh i never turned it up... which prolonged it staying harsh...
