    Question DSG questions?

Have done a quick search for DSG on the forum and have picked up on the fact that there seems to be a responsiveness issue when starting of. Does anyone else have this?

I ask as the other day I jammed the accelerator to the floor to get though an intersection quickly. The car lurched forward into the middle of the intersection. STOPPED for half a second. And then took off.

I have also noticed that when ever I punch the accelerator down all the way I get a brief pause before anything happens. I’m not sure if this is normal. My brand new GTI doesn’t do it.

Any thoughts before I ask the dealer to investigate??

    Thanks!

I have this problem too, and apparently it is "within operating parameters...."

Just waiting for the OJ12 fix from the states to filter down to Australia....

Does anyone know when this OJ12 fix is coming from the USA to AUS?--If at all. Why does VW-A say that there is no problem?

If you want answers you have to push for everything. Regarding DSG...i recently had to fight to actually get them to accept that you could service the DSG box. I kept getting the response "Its a lifetime Unit, no service required", they since have done a backflip and I have had it serviced. WTF???

doesnt inspire much confidence in what they know about their own product does it? THe response i got from a couple of VW service centres was "DSG service, oh did you hear that on some forum?"...umm yeah I did...and it seems that these forums know more about VW's than VW....

As much as i love VW im starting to learn that its a freaking effort if you want to look after your car....take it to a non dealership related mechanic who is a VW expert if you can.

That underscores the exact reason I have little faith in the dealer that services my Jetta. I bought the car from that same dealer (perhaps I should write up the complete cock up that was sometime) and the service department gives me the impression of not knowing anything beyond an oil change.

As the car is on a novated lease I intend to trade in at 3 years. Having the car serviced by that same dealer is a logical choice from a trade in perspective but if it were not for that I think I'd be going elsewhere.

The story of my purchase of the car will take a few days to write so give me a few days. Just have to work out whether it should go in Humour or the MkV section! LOL

    Hi Guys,

If you are dealing with a dealer that does not even know the service schedule of your car maybe you should try another dealer??
