Alright, I'm liking the sound of it. John, where are you guys and what's your contact number? I can't find it anywhere on your website.

One last question, not that I'm all that concerned about it. But what impact will this have on fuel economy?

It should be under the DNA Tuning Australia dealer; apologies the site is managed by DNA Tuning UK and I have to admit it is not the most user friendly. My contact number is 0403191338; I am based in the South East, but my services are predominantly mobile. I am not based in a workshop as such.

Fuel economy is theoretically improved due to better combustion efficiency from the advanced ignition timing; in reality however the improvements are small and therefore should not be a buying factor - fuel consumption definitely definitely does not get worse however.

Well if you and adrock are both keen to get your R36's upgraded - I can organise an appointment together with both of you to answer your questions and to provide some documentation for you to review. I have sent both of you PM's, cheers.

I'm interested but because I'm in WA I need the SRS-II unit.
I know it's something I'll never use again and it will just take up space in the glovebox.

You can save the costs on the SRS-II by sending your ECU to me to get reprogrammed - factoring in express postage, total turnaround time would be about 3 to 4 days.

It uses the same engine management system as the R36, and given that the VR6 design is not all that different this does not come as a surprise.
do you have power and torque graphs for the 3.2? I used to have an R36 and its torque peak is at lower RPM and the gearing is shorter thus I am keen to see the difference at lower revs.

    John,

could you include me if you are meeting up with the 2 owners? I would love to have a chat about DNA tuning as well.

I will need to contact DNA Tuning UK for power data on the 3.2. The R36's "real" torque peak, ie. volumetric efficiency of the 3.6 VR6 arrives later 2400rpm; however it is tuned in a way such that they can claim peak torque from 2400 to 5300rpm; it sounds possibly more impressive that way especially for its target market. I'd imagine a tuned 3.2 would be very similar in the overall power/torque curve, but obviously just less throughout the range given it's smaller displacement. I was going to put up power data on the R32's 3.2 but that is fairly different (different CR, non-FSI, old engine management system, etc.).
