Difference between kufatec fiscon plus and VW BT?

    Hi all,

Can anyone shed some light between the VW dealer installed integrated BT unit and the Kufatc Fiscon Plus unit that can be bought and installed externally?

I am trying to decide whether to get the dealer to install it or to get carkitcompany.com.au to install the Kufatec.

    Would appreciate some advice.

    Thanks,

    Exsing

Crap in terms of what may I ask? Pairing issues? drop out? user interface? features?

I'm interested in a bluetooth also but considering kufatec after ope126 mentioned it has other features.

I currently have the Parrot 3100 in my A3 and while it has some issues (voice command gets forgotten) I still reckon it's worth while having.

I purchased the current C version 9W7 for my old GTI and recently had it installed in my R36, its a fantastic little system, havent tried the voice control, but its fully integrated into the wheel controls, phone book is loaded on the RNS etc etc, the sound quality is excellent my wife can hear my 2yo in the back when driving clear as day. I picked it up on eBay and they're around $350 ATM, a friend just bought one for his Rocco, definately worth the money IMO.

Edit: O yeah and it works with the iPhone 3G and 4 no problems

Does the Kufatec support bluetooth multipoint by any chance?

Multipoint allows you to have two or more phones paired and connected to the handsfree concurrently, and you can answer whichever phone is ringing.

Im interested in this also as the VW I am waiting for delivery on was orginally going to have the Fiscon bt fitted at predelivery - now we are being told it has factory fitted bt.
Salesman originally told us the Fiscon was far superior to the factory bt setup - but didnt explain why......
    Should I be concerned ?
Are there any notable differences between the 2 systems ?
Should there be any price adjustments because of this change ?

    Cheers

I just had the fiscon plus unit installed to my R36 RNS 510. Syncs well with phonebook and recent call lists. Works through RNS screen and MFD?

No voice control though which is what the VW system has. No issues with pairing. Call quality good and no complaints!
