    difference

can someone tell me how to tell the difference between a 103kw TDI and 125kw TDI Passat, without physically looking at the car?
    are the any noticeable differences?

Not got a definitive answer but I bet the std wheels are different. I would expect that there are plenty of other detail differences.

The only external differences are that the 125Kw runs 17" Monte Carlo rims (235/45/17 tyres) as standard (103Kw has 16") and the I in TDI badge on boot lid is red (with a silver border as Sylvester points out). Note early / all? 2007 TDI builds have no badge at all (not sure of exact date when use of TDI badge started), just "PASSAT" on near side of boot lid. If I remember correctly 125Kw didn't become available until MY08 model.

I saw a really nice new golf with one of those badges today and was wondering what it meant. It was debadged except for the TDI.

But the red letter has silver border so it is not noticeable until you look closely.

I would imagine that if it was a 125KW version, the seller would mention it. Otherwise assume it's the 103kw version.

Old man has the 125kw passat, ordered mid 07 took delivery Nov 07 but its an MY08 spec (one of the first of the production line i would imagine)

The biggest difference between the two is you dont notice that lag as much between first and second gear on the 125kw that you do in the 103kw....for this reason alone buy the 125kw

I have the 103kW with the sport suspension and the 18" wheels... guess all I need for an upgrade is the Tdi badge...

Seriously, I think that the engine kw is listed in the inside cover of the owners manual - will check tonight.
