    Delivery Delays R36

With great disappointment, the delivery of my R36 has been delayed twice now.
Now apparently there was bird poo on the car, and the shipment got quarantined and they can only clear 35 cars a day etc...
Just wondering how some of u guys goingwith your delivery times and if u have had any delays??

Bad luck SharifE. I ordered my car in February and it was supposed to have arrived on the 6th of May, but it was delayed and has just arrived yesterday. Unfortunately i'm leaving for Prague today for 3 weeks. VW let me have a look at the car with all the white tape still on it and they gave me a free umbrella for my hardship.

Ordered my sedan on 21st January (advised no longer than 16 weeks - I had requested an 09 build) and am told that it will arrive in country on 20th May. Dealer is telling me it can take up to 15 working days before I can take possession. I am hoping first week in June. My dealer also mentioned the quarantine issues with recent arrivals and that this can add 20 days to the timeframe. Can only hope my car is not one that is quarantined when it arrives on Wednesday.

Mine was in a showroom so from time of deciding I wanted it to when it was in my driveway was 4 days!

It's a MY09 with a build date of December 2008. 2009 is already just about half over so I can't see the point in waiting MONTHS for a build date that in the long term isn't going to overly affect resale. I plan on keeping the car at least 5 years.

I know what u mean, ur pretty lucky..But I think in 5 years time, 2009 built would probably fetch a bit more than 2008built. I ordered mine mid April, they said it was on way so I figured I can last a month, no way Id wait 5months.

But I guess your laughing now..

Probably... But I don't mind. It just means that I'm paying a bit more for instant enjoyment of owning the car. Plus if I had have waited 6 months, my trade would be worth about $10,000 less!

Let's face it. Cars aren't ever a good investment.

I agree, mine is a MY09 with a build date of November 2008, and I too plan to keep the car for 5 years
