    Couldn't agree more.

Nice shine. Mine's getting detailed next week.

i have had paint protection on my Subaru (silver metalic) and my current solid red XR5 - i love it because i never have to wax and polish. Is you advice more due to the colour or regardless of the colour? Cheers

Regardless of ANYTHING mate. Dealer's "paint protection" is a total waste of money!!!

Never had to wax and polish? LMAO!!! Yeah right!!! Good luck with that...

A preofessional detail that uses quality products is a LOT cheaper and will be a LOT nicer finish as well as protecting your paint for longer. After all "paint protection" is just a stupid way of saying "wax".

But don't take my word for it. Contact a detailer and discuss it with them...

I have a couple of mates who sell new cars and they love selling paint protection because it nets them nearly 100% profit for NOTHING!

They can't believe that people actually by the 'snake oil'

LOL - when I bought mine and I said no to paint protection, she actually tried to make me feel guilty and played the "You're spending xxx on a new car and you don't want to protect the paintwork?????" card.

I LOL'd at her and told her not to bother with trying to sell me the tint either

alright then, seems there is little if any confidence in the 'product'. You have convinced me to save that money. I noted that there is another thread about how to wax/polish your paint on here, so i better get reading.

I ordered late May and have been told mine is scheduled to be built in week 32 in August. That means late Oct and maybe even November delivery.

What I'm wondering is whether the dealer is shafting me... ie. selling my car that has been built to someone else who wants the same colour and spec... for a higher price than me... so push me back to the next build... etc.???

    Is it possible?

I probably would have cancelled if it wasn't for the tax benefit.

They had promised 10 weeks. What to do?

They should be able to provide your with your vehicles VIN. This ensures that this doesn't happen and the dealers cant push you back and sell your vehicle to others.
