    Decisions

    Hi all,

Thinking of trading in the A4 for a new old Passat (circa 06/07)

Have found two that interest me

    2006 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT Type 3C MY07 V6 DSG 4-MOTION FSI
    and a

2007 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT Type 3C MY07 TDI DSG

Now I know what the obvious difference is, i.e. 3.2 compared to 2.0TDI and fwd vs awd

    But what my question is:

Is there any benefit of going the 3.2? the 3,2 is significantly more expensive, (i.e. 8k)

    Thanks

    Darko

Check the detailed specs on each car - you might find the V6 has leather included ... and the tdi may not have it.

Probably worth test driving a V6 and a tdi to see if the extra performance of the V6 is worth the extra $'s up front. The V6 will also probaby use at least 25% more fuel than the tdi.

both have leather! not even bothering with non-leather cars.

Forgot to mention, the V6 is a wagon.

    On what?

Ok, next question v6 dealer reckons that the Passat didn't come with full size spare only a gas canister. Also, how normal is water coming out of hatch lid?

all passats come with a full size spare, AFAIK my two certainly did, so does my father in laws and every other one I've Seen. Me think that as per usual the dealer is telling porky pies!

water out of the tailgate when you open it? mine does that after you have washed it.

p.s. when thinking about v6 versus TDI, try pulling into a gap in traffic traffic from a wet T intersection with the V6 then the TDI, then you will see the biggest difference.

Confirmed with another dealer ilthat yes should have a spare, knocked off a grand for that.
I don't get it mathew, which will go better in traffic? The tdi has torque??? I'm confused!

All in all, if t was a black tdi wagon, I'd jump on it, but Ian leaning toasted the 3.2 as the dealer is giving me a better trade on it.

Traction of the 4-Motion system is what I am talking about, and was the deciding factor for me, oh, and that lovely sounding V6, have you driven the V6 yet? the TDI is obviously a 103TDI, not the 125, so performance will be chalk and cheese really, so it probably comes down to performance versus economy.
