Yeah, that is an AAMI thing, I wouldn't use them ever again. Had the dodgiest repair on my pulsar back in the day.

Now that's a coincidence, had the same issue with repairs on a SSS Pulsar. AAMI require 2 quotes to be able to use your own repairer. I found it impossible to get a quote from a non AAMI repairer as soon as they found out who the insurer was. Have been with Shannons for a few years now and have been quite happy with them.

    I was with AAMI.

Believe me you're nvr lucky with AAMI.

If you have a 'premium' car. Any insurance with 'choice repairer's' good IMO.

Link to insurers with choice repairers - I used this site as a ref to get my quotes.

always go through a broker. This will ensure you have the right cover which will always include choice of repairer. You dont want inferior parts being used on your car. Insurers will not stuff around brokers because their opinion on their service and claims is massive factor on which insurer they will reccomend to their customer.

I have rating 1 for life, but that actually means very little.

I too had a very bad experience with AAMI - very poor repairs that were guaranteed for life, but by the third time I took the car back AAMI just told me to take it up with the repairer directly! I ended up trading the car because I got sick of taking it back to the repairer - It cost me a lot more than what I saved on the insurance in the first place.

Exactly. Pulsar SSS and the insurance was dangerous in one place near the fuel filler. Spraying the front windscreen resulting in the rear spraying and vice versa. Rear left door wouldn't open from the inside and the front door wasn't aligned properly. Front foglight came off the wrong year model.. and on and on with the dodgyness.

I am with Shannons now for the GTI and they are good with price and listing all mods.

AAMI are cheap for a reason. You get for what pay for.
