good post....lets see how he takes it....
Sorry but I have to say this. I have remained quiet for far too long.
Rocket - read back what you have posted. And then when you are finished with that, take some time to read all the other posts where you have taken the opportunity to argue your point of view simply for the sake of argument and to be seen to have the last word. I am all for a good discussion as long as there is a point to it, and it is done constructively with respect for all.
In saying 'why is that tricky' is challenging the fact that Jayse thinks the dial issue is tricky. You might as well have called him a nasty name. He is entitled to his opinion as much as you are. I am sure that Jayse knows that he can simply turn the dial without your instruction. Same as anyone can count the seven clicks to operate the roof. Can you not appreciate how condescending and patronising that is to say to someone? Not disimilar to saying that something is SIMPLE (ie. if you don't see the world as I do, then you must be stupid).
I am sure that I am not alone in thinking that at times, this forum has deteriorated to the point of mindless argument as opposed to constructive exchange of knowledge or discussion. As a result of this I find myself logging on less and less. Dare I ask a question or discuss an issue myself lest the risk of being attacked for my view and worse still, being spoken to like a child.
Forums like these are so valuable for the open exchange of information, not to mention the enormous value that comes with building relationships with like-minded people. Please don't disrespect the forum and the members themselves by reducing the discussion to nothing more than a self-serving contest.
And if I have offended anyone, including you Rocket, please know that is not my intention.
Tantrum over.
good post....lets see how he takes it....
pointless arguments? I disagree... There is always more than one interpretation. Why should you take me as being argumentative for the sake of it simply for taking a different view on a topic than most?
There's no disrespecting ANYONE going on that I can see - just different points of view which is ultimately what discussions are about.
You can interpret anything anyone says to suit your own views if you like, but it's not anyone's problem but your own when you get that interpretation wrong. Nowhere have I ever tried to be condescending. I also certainly don't see anyone getting attacked or spoken to like a child but as I said if you interpret stuff that way there's nothing anyone else can do about it unfortunately.
Cheers

How sad am I - logged into the computers at work at 6am on new years morning because they didn't roll over the end of year properly.....
Anyway - noticed this pic on Carsales of a MY09 wagon
The pic on my MFD is of a sedan - anyone else with a wagon have this?

yep....wagon on mine....
I've wondered this as well. My MY09 wagon shows a sedan on the MFD but the RCD510 shows a wagon(wrong colour but I'll let that slide) when the parking sensors are on.
I always thought it was odd they missed it, my wife just said I was being anal...
A VAGCOM setting perhaps?
-Gloat about my car's fitted options here-
... sad is the fact that we are "concerned" about a little diagram in the MFD of a car ... .
Yep, even in the lowly 2.0 TDI 125 I get a wagon.
Happy New Year, and I for one would be very happy if this is the worst issue I have this year.

I agree 100% but I think the best way to keep a good site good, or to make it better, is to use it MORE often not LESS often and ignore those that are less tolerant than others and work with the Moderators to keep those people in line.
It would be a pity to less those with the biggest opinions and the smallest minds rule the world! Don't you agree?

Completely agree. I used to come on to this forum quite a lot, now it's just once in a blue moon and for the same reasons. The Passat forum has a few 'ego's' who have an attitude that their opinion is always the correct one, that whatever they say is always correct, and if anyone says anything different they'll start with the condescending remarks.
Offensive people with offensive attitudes and really, I just can't be bothered with that sort of rubbish.
(p.s. Sorry to O.P. - fairly off topic I know!).
