interesting! Thanks R36 Dreamer - I wonder what their reasoning was for deleting out of the MY09's....

This (no clear "home position") has been annoying me a bit and I'm sure I'm not alone, yes we can all count, but honestly why should we on a car for such price..... I think it needs a "home position" like the dial dropping slightly in the roof-closed position so you can easily turn the knob until it drops. That would also eliminate the need for any lighting as last thing you want to be doing at night is looking up away from where you want to be looking.

Mine has a "home" position, however it is a bit stupid because if you have the roof open, turn off the car and take the keys out, and then turn the knob to the "home" position, when you switch the car back on it doesn't recognise the movement of the switch, so you have to turn the knob round and back again to make it work.

Perhaps Ze Germens (sic) thought the MY09 way makes more sense?

No clear home position? What? There is so... Well at least on mine - it's where the dial is pointing directly forward and the roof is closed.

Now was that seven clicks or only six? It's the Dirty Harry of sunroof controls.

LMAO!!! I would like it to be different than it is but what's the point in complaining about it? Unless we can somehow add the light back into the dial.

Also gets a lil tricky when you've turned off the car and the sunroof is open and you close it & any open windows holding down the close button on the keyfob. The dial will stay at the point it was on when you turned the car off.

    Cheers,

Why is that "tricky"? I love the feature of closing everything with the key fob. And in summer I LOVE walking to the car and opening all the windows to let the heat out before I even get to the car.

The fact the dial stays where it is shouldn't be an issue or cause any problems or trickiness. You just have to switch it away from and then back to that point when you get back in.

Unless all you guys complaining are just so seriously fussy about convenience crap that I just can't understand it.
