    Buying ex-rental vehicle (Europcar)

Are there any downsides to buying ex-rental vehicle from Europcar?
It has full service history (stamped by Europcar themselves).

The only thing concerning me is the factory warranty... Is it void because it was owned by Europcar or it's ok and can be transferred to the new owner and then I will be able to get extended warranty for it ?

My concern would be the fact that rental cars are generally mis-treated and given very little (if any) TLC.

Im far too fussy to ever buy an ex rental or ex company car.

Have you ever driven a rental car?
As it is not your car, so you tend to be a bit more relaxed than your own pride and joy...

As such and along with hundreds of other drivers who do not care too much, you might find the car has had a difficult life!

Forgive me if I am wrong...

I once considered doing the same. But soon came to my senses!

Traditionally whilst they say they service them themselves I wouldnt trust them to use the correct oils or do it at the right time.

I have had several long term rentals in the US and they dont do any more than they have to. I had a fairly new Hyundai Tuscon (IX35) and when it had done 7500m the book said it needed a service, I took it in to Enterprise/Alamo/ (biggest in US) and said it needs a service.

"Has the light come on" No but the book says..... " Dont worry drive it till the light comes on". Im going across the deserts "Dont worry we will give you another one if that one dies"??????.

Anyway I kept driving it and after 13500 miles the light still hadnt come on WTF

So you can draw your own conclusions from this but I wouldnt buy an exrental. Many get thrashed to death.

Mine didnt but it cruised nicely at 85MPH

Point being is I didn't treat the car as I do my own. And I'm generally someone that'll take real extra care of mine and others belongings.

So you can only imagine what others have done.

They say rental cars make the best race cars.

Except rental I20s. You'd get hosed by a garden snail.
