Looking for some advice on front brake pads for a 2007 Passat v6. I had the warning light come up on the dash, we've done 46000km.
Before i head off to VW i wanted to see if people are using a non OEM alternative, and if tehre is a local installer on the North Shore Sydney. Also should i also expect to need new rotors too? Anyone have an appproximate cost?

We had the pads changed in our Lexus at about 90,000km for a less dusty type (genuine Toyota part). The original pads were as bad as any european car for caking the wheels in brake dust but the new ones were great. Still in there at the 140,000km mark and haven't noticed any degredation in performance or excessive wear of the rotors.
Do VW have a similar option? The Vicenza wheels are a right pain to keep clean.....

Remsa brake pads from GSL rallysport (a sponsor on here) are a good option for replacement brake pads that wont break the bank and give off far less brake dust.
There are quite a few people on here (myself included) running these pads.
+1 for Remsa pads...

Also running Remsa pads on the R36, a little less brake dust with a touch more progressive feel.

I've been looking to get ATE Ceramic pads as well, but there doesn't seem to be a set made for the current B7 V6 Passat Wagon.
