Ok check out race brakes or also Volkwerke in Greensborough well done on 150000 out of pads and discs I have only had rear pads done still on original fronts and rotors. There was a guy on here selling Mk5 rotors and pads I believe they fit Passat as well.

I have 170k on my brakes. fronts still have 7mm remaining. rears about 4mm. I don't drive slowly but i do look a long way up the road and don't really brake for corners.

You'll need to replace your rotors in all likelihood also, go with ATE solid rotors.
I was offered original pads 175$ and rotoslrs 132 x 2. What do you think?

I have no idea on prices.
All I can say is the ATEs are a great upgrade over the stock pads in terms of brake dust, whilst having no perceptible performance difference.

That would be a no from me both on price & expected life & dust.
