Seeking assistance to identify this braided hose
1999 passat 1.8t fuel AEB .
There is a braided hose approx 10mm o/d and 3mm i/d connected to a nipple on the radiator end of the intake manifold. The hose is approx 250mm long and disappears under the intake manifold, then emerges and connects to another nipple on a small cylinderical component approx 30mm dia.
This hose has broken away from the nipple.
1) What is this hose ?
2) what does it do ? ( I am not noticing any change in performance)
3) Is there any future internal damage concerns whilst driving before hose is repaired?
4)There appears to be some miserable fancy hose clips, clamping the hose to the nipples. Is there a special tool to crimp the clips.
5) Is it ackward to gain access under the intake manifold, as the hose appears to comprise of two pieces.
Once again I thank you for your much valued replies.
Regards John
