Best Way to Wash

I am keen to hear from those that are particular about not getting swirl marks about there washing process. Up until now I have been using the Bowdens Own products Aus. These are the guys that own most of the historic touring cars of signifigance in the country. I have used this for the last 5 years on my Red Monaro that is about to be traded

I am really keen on keeping the New R36 (when it arrives) in the best condition as possible.

As far as washing goes, a microfibre wash mit is the best way to go.

Coupled with PH neutral Dodo Juice Born To Be Mild car wash.

To dry it off, forget anything but a waffle weave microfibre drying towel.

Get two buckets and two mits (I use sheepwool versions).

Put your car wash (I use Zano) in each bucket and the required water.

Spray down the car to get rid of obvious dirt particles etc.

Soak both your mits and then work with one lightly on a panel taking care not to rub too hard. Grit is your enemy.

Put the used mit in the bucket and allow to soak/float freeing it of large particles. Get your second mit and do the same; alternating between the two mits and working lightly.

After the first round of light and hopefully quick work, wash out your mits getting all particles out and repeat (if you think its needed).

Dry the car with microfibre towel - don't bother with small ones. You need a large towel to do it efficiently.

Apply your favorite finish/wax. I use the Zano system. Others can be just as good. The one thing in favour of Zano I've found is that during the strict water restrictions I still got beading of water on my car 18 months after an application of 3 coats of Zano. Amazing stuff.

edit: 2 bucket system is generally one bucket of clean suds & one bucket of rinse water.
