After "the long wait", I am now less than 24 hours away from being able to remove the "waiting" from my little signature thing... Booked in with dealer, check list prepared for review... gotta say, my palms are a little clammy today (no, not a euphamism... not really anyway...).
Looking forward to finally joining the club tomorrow!
EDIT: - 22 hours...

MY10 R36 Wagon, BBlue, SatNav, MDI - No longer waiting!!!
I am going to abstain from publishing my first Volkswagen dealer experience until after I get the keys...
Rest assured, I have prepared a list of items that will be checked and ticked off.
19 hours and 12 minutes to go... feel like a kid on Christmas eve (so I guess I already am enjoying the car...)

Speaking of a checklist... when you pick up your car, your dealer will get you to sign a "Vehicle Delivery Checklist" which will have your VIN, Rego No & model description on the top. Then there are a list of items to check off under diff catergories:
1) Exterior Visual Check
2) Interior Features
3) Accessory Fitment
4) Were the following items explained to you
Then you make a comment on anything about the delivery and sign off on it.
Under Accessory Fitment there is a box for "other" along with Floor mats, alloy wheels etc.
If enough people tick Not Ok for other and mention that no warning triangle or umbrella was supplied with the car, will VWA take notice of it?
Sorry for the rant, but if they have the holders there for you and you're purchasing a $70-$80k car, they could at least fit those items too. Especially the warning triangle from a safety stand point.
Rant over, and i hope everything goes well for your delivery tomorrow victorwhiskey!!
Cheers,
Jayse.

LOL - make sure they tell you how to operate the park brake. I picked my 36 up at EOM and they just gave me the keys and pointed me at it (fine by me). All was OK till I tried to release the park brake and could not work out how to do it (no - I had not previously taken a 36 for a test drive). Needless to say I felt bit silly not being able to move the car......
Hmmm, not sure if these are to be included. I received neither, but then again I got a keen price so I am not complaining. You can pick up the brolly for <$30 as an accessory item from the parts guys.
As for the triangle - hope to never need it, so it is just parasitic weight IMO.
Picked it up today
No umbrella...
No safety triangle...
20km on the odometer...
Cant type any more... have manual to go read
