B7 TDI Passat Sedan Tyre Pressure Warning

Doing 110ks on the Western Highway when the tyre pressure light pops up. I know one should check and pump up their tyres when cold, so I figured I'd check them next morning.

Pull into first servo and their tyre pump isn't working. Drive off and pull into next servo and their pump isn't working either. Same story at the third servo. The fourth servo's is working, but not very well as I could hear air being lost no matter how I tried to place the damn thing onto my tyres.

Have you guys come across the same problem at servos?!?! Makes me think I should just buy my own portable tyre pump and use it at home!

Anyway, this experience has left me wondering how do fellow Passat owners check and pump up their tyres?

Generally the servos near me have a working pump but I also bought a compressor & accessory package from Supercheap Auto. It was around $100 & I use it for lots of other stuff as well.
