B7 Dynaudio Retrofit

I have just picked my first Passat, a V6 Highline. Unfortunately it doesn't have the Dynaudio option that i wanted.

Has anyone here done this before? I am mainly wondering if the required wiring is already present in the vehicle. ie Amp wiring, are the speaker connections the same etc.

I have found bits and pieces of info around but nothing B7 Passat specific.

Its a fairly expensive and extensive retrofit job. None of the wiring is there, has to be installed.
You are probably better off putting money towards a good aftermarket solution from a reputable car audio specialist.

I am about to do this to my new V6 Highline next week, as I already have Dynaudio Esotec 242 GT speakers from my last car. I have an Audison Voce AV Quattro amp and RNS510 all going in next week. Just buy yourself some Dynaudio speakers and a decent amp to power them. 242GTs love lots of power, I'm feeding the whole amp into just the front splits. Rear speakers are being disconnected. Maybe ask Marty at FHRX Studios, that's where I bought all my gear from, top bloke, outstanding service...
What Dynaudios speakers are actually installed as the factory option???

I've been looking into a Dynaudio retrofit for a R36 (B6). I'm hoping I've read correctly and that the R36 has all the wiring already and it's just a plug'n'play replacement for the 250W "premium" Monsoon system.

Let me know if anyone finds where to source the components from (and how much they cost).. I've been looking at aftermarket Esotec speakers from Woofers etc, but they are a relatively expensive option (System 362 appears to be close to the front door specs, not sure about rear doors).

In the B6, there are 3 speakers in each front door and 2 in each rear door (10 total).

In the front doors, the bass/mid are mounted in a plastic baffle and the tweeters are mounted in the door pillars.
In the back, the bass are mounted in the door, with the tweeters next to the door handles.
I think the amp (under the passenger seat) handles the crossover frequencies with 10 separate channels (could be wrong)

The Esotec components I'd be leaning towards would be a System 362 in the front and System 242 GTS in the rear... though I'm really guessing based on speaker sizes I've seen around the web.. (fronts: 8",3",1.1" & rears: 6.5",1.1")... I'd love for someone to be able to confirm (or correct) these assumptions for me.

Right, it is an expensive list... From what I understand, the factory 10 channel 600W Amp/DSP is well matched to those speakers.

The other (cheaper) option is to try locate some OEM speakers.

As in second hand OEM Dyns?

Dyns are an SQ speaker, its not like you're trying to win any SPL contests with these. They are for lots of detail. Personally I'd ditch the rears, remember rears are just a 'fill' speaker, (or just leave the factorys in there for fill). Music is generally in front and to the side of your ears. When you go to see a band you don't have speakers behind you. You will then have more budget for the fronts and to spend on a good amp. Other question is what type of music do you listen to?

fronts very close to 362s, rears close to 242. the OEM stuff isn't quite as good though with slightly lower spec baskets and doesnt use the crossovers (active via amp i expect). the cones do look idential and the sizes all match up. 8in, 3in, 1.2in Front and 7in, 1.1in rear.
