    B6 Steering lock disable.

    Hi,

I have a B6 R36 and I am attempting to install the S2T paddle shifters.

After finding the fuse boxes are on the other side of the car to what the manual says, I've encountered another problem: the steering lock.

Does anybody know how to disable the steering lock with the battery disconnected, or how to ensure that it's disabled after the battery is disconnected? Inserting the key is no help, as it's not a mechanical key but an electronic key. Fiddling with the button on the gear stick is no help, either.

    Cheers!

That was easier than I thought it would be - reconnect the battery, insert the key to unlock the steering, then disconnect the battery. The steering will remain unlocked.
